Spring 2017 OPERATIONAL RULES
PLEASE READ THESE RULES COMPLETELY
Windshield Stickers
Enclosed are the color-coded windshield stickers with your space number(s). A sticker must be attached inside the windshield to the driver’s side of the windshield of every vehicle driven into the swap meet area. Please place below the sun tinting so sticker can read from the outside. Your sticker is good for admittance into only ONE swap meet zone. You will not be admitted if the sticker is not in place. Any vehicle parked in a space within the swap meet or car corral must have a sticker.
Swap Meet Spaces
Swap meet spaces are not assignable except at amount paid at time of purchase.
Your space(s) will be designated with a numbered marker in each space. Your displays must be kept within the boundaries of your space(s). Vendors must vacate their spaces by 3:00 p.m. Sunday. All parts left unattended after 3:00 p.m. Sunday are subject to removal by cleanup crews.
Vendor Hours of Admittance
Pre-registered vendors will be admitted from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hours of admittance Thursday, Friday and Saturday are 7:00 a.m. to 10 a. m. To make Pate Swap Meet even safer for our vendors/shoppers/buyers, all unnecessary vehicle traffic on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m and 5 p.m. is prohibited. After 10 a.m. all late arriving and new vendors will enter through their appropriate gate and wait for a Pate escort cart to escort them to their correct space. This procedure could cause you a delay in getting to your space(s). Please – all vendors, plan to arrive prior to 10 a.m. to avoid and delays or confusion! No more shopping from your personal vehicles. If you purchased spaces to include room for your vehicle, you are to take it there and leave it there!
Illegally Parked Vehicles
Parking on streets inside the meet area is permitted for loading and unloading only. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense. Vehicles or other items left in an unauthorized space will be removed at owner’s expense. Free vendor parking is provided in the lot North of the fenced in area of the swap meet and to the area west of the spaces in Zone 0.
Vehicle Traffic
Five (5) mile per hour speed limit will be enforced.. Riding around in the swap meet areas can result in expulsion from the swap meet. Driving within the swap meet area is limited to the following conditions:
a. From 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
b. Driving will not be allowed during the hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
c. Unauthorized vehicles during swap meet hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. are: mini-bikes; skateboards; inline skates; private motorized carts, lawn tractors or lawn mowers; personal 2 wheel scooters; motor bikes or motorcycles; powered or non-powered bicycles; 3 or 4 wheel All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s); or electric or gas powered golf carts, or any other motorized transportation of any type other than the exceptions noted in Handicapped Access below.
d. No motorized vehicle of any kind can be driven at any time within the grounds of the swap meet by anyone who does not possess a valid state driver’s license.
Handicapped Access
Approved electric handicap scooters are welcome in the swap meet areas. Electric mobility units (three or four wheeled, freestanding, electric scooters that are authorized by the federal government for access in public buildings) may be used at anytime inside the swap meet by any individuals who need this mode of transportation. This is limited to wheel chairs, 3 or 4-wheel electric scooters and electrical power chairs similar to those shown below. Use of such a vehicle must be limited to the authorized person only, no riders please.
Quiet Hours
To prevent noise during the late night sleeping hours, absolutely no vehicle traffic will be allowed to move within the meet area between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The gates will be closed to keep traffic from going in or out during these hours and security guards will be on duty.
Generators
Generators causing excessive noise and fumes are prohibited. From 7:00 AM to 10:00PM Generators must not exceed 70 dBA. After 10:00 PM generators must not exceed 45 dBA. Loud generator complaints should be reported to Headquarters during the day and the security officer at Gate 4 after
6 PM.
Staking of Tents or Canopies
No stakes shall be driven into the asphalt surface anywhere on Texas Motor Speedway grounds. Weights should be used to anchor tents or awnings on black top or concrete. Violators will be fined or removed from the grounds by Texas Motor Speedway security.
Pets
All pets must be kept on a leash no longer than six (6) feet at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after pets.
Food and Beverage Sales
No food or beverages may be sold in the swap meet area except authorized by Texas Motor Speedway.
Free Parts Hauling Service
A parts hauling service is available for items purchased inside swap meet that are too heavy to carry. Parts will be delivered free to any information center from 8:00AM to 6:00PM Thursday through Saturday. Contact any Information Center for this service.
Camping on Texas Motor Speedway Property
No open fires permitted on the grounds at any time. No ATV type equipment and no glass containers. Trailers are required to place a 1’ x 1’ ¾” plywood plate under landing gear to protect the asphalt parking lot.
Firearms
No sale, display or exhibition of firearms is permitted on the Texas Motor Speedway property.
Lost Persons
Lost persons should report to one of the information centers for assistance.
Church Service
A short Church Service will be held Sunday, May 3rd at 8:00 a.m. at Headquarters.
Sale of wear-ables, sunglasses, jewelry, tapes, souvenirs, etc.
If the vendor’s primary business is the sale of wear-ables, souvenirs, sunglasses, jewelry, tapes and like products, they must deal directly with the Merchandising Department at the Texas Motor Speedway, 817-215-8560.
A company/corporation that is exhibiting their company product will be allowed to sell wear-ables and other souvenir type products mentioned above that display their company/corporation logos.

Acceptance of a space constitutes your agreement to abide by our rules. Neither the Pate Swap Meet G.P. or the Texas Motor Speedway will be responsible for damages, injuries or accidents during the swap meet. The Pate Swap Meet and Texas Motor Speedway officials reserve the right to reject and/or eject any person or firm they deem as undesirable for any reason. The directors’/officials’ actions and decisions are final.
